Tutoring for individuals or small groups of 2 or 3 students in the same class is available. Tutoring location is determined by the family. It may be at the family home (with parent present), at school (with school permission and school employee available), or a pubic place selected by the family (library, coffee shop etc., with adults present).
Students bring textbook and classroom materials and assignments. Tutor will provide individual white boards and markers.
Sessions are held once a week and run from 60 to 90 minutes as requested by the family. (Fee is per session regardless of length).
For small group tutoring all students must be in the same class.
The first session is free. The first session is an opportunity for the family, the student, and Banyan Tree Consulting all agree on future sessions. Subsequent sessions are $25 per student per session or $100 for 5 sessions. Five session payment is in advance and not refundable. Financial assistance is available for demonstrated need.
Students who struggle in math often benefit from hearing and seeing concepts presented in different ways. Teachers with 20 or more students in a class may not be able to present material in a way that matches the learning style of each student. In addition, some students may need more guided individual practice then a teacher can provide in a classroom. At BTC we believe individual attention to the needs of struggling math students is often the key to success in math.
